When the rep called us to ask if we wanted to see the’ Tom Davies’ range our first though was ’do we really need another brand of frames in the store’. Knowing that Tom Davies only distributed his frames through independent opticians we decided to make an appointment and during that visit we very quickly realised Tom Davies was not just another frame brand. The frame range is built on three principles Fit, Form & Function and consists of 3 options the ‘ready to wear,’ personalised’ and fully customisable bespoke eyewear. This gives the option of choosing frame colour, eye-size, side length, bridge size, temple colours and choice of materials. You also have the option to put your name, telephone number, or email address on the inside of the frame. Available in materials of 18k gold, silver 925, cotton acetate, and natural horn as worn by Ed Sheeran and Angelina Jolie. Tom Davies left university in 1992 and moved to Hong Kong to learn his craft and in 2017 opened an eyewear factory in the UK where the frames are designed and made by hand. Making the move back to the UK allowed Tom to start an apprenticeship scheme where young frame designers are being taught the skills, craftmanship and design of spectacle frames. Once you have seen the range and more importantly tried on a pair of Tom Davies eye-wear you will then understand the beauty and superior design of these frames.
